Off to Austin!

Missie, Andi, Kristi at The Alamo, San Antonio, TX

Last April, I joined my sister (left) and my niece Andi (center) at The Alamo in San Antonio, TX. I’ve always wanted to go there since my Dad had talked about it so much. It’s as powerful as place to visit as everyone says it is.

As you’re reading this my plane is taking off…I’m headed to Austin, Texas to visit my sister and be inspired by its different landscape. Since it’s hot down there (wow! It’s summer! Not like here in New England!), we plan to visit a few water parks–among them Schlitterbahn (where we got ourselves a cabana for the day) and the new Hawaiian Falls in Pflugerville. We’ll also be revisiting Animal World & Snake Farm in New Braunfels…and for the first time, FINALLY, I’ll get to see the bats as they emerge in the Austin Bat Fest 2014. We may also go visit the town where Piranha (1978) was filmed. And, of course, we’ll do eating and live music. See you Labor Day weekend!
