“FROST”ING THE CAKE: “THE THINGS THAT COME BACK TO YOU” FEATURED IN DEBUT ISSUE OF HALF LIGHT
Remember that piece I wrote about going on the hunt for my Dad’s lost paper on Robert Frost? This past Sunday, Dean Bowman, editor of the brand new e-zine Half Light, contacted me and asked if he could feature the piece in the mag’s debut issue. I almost couldn’t believe what I was reading—it’s not one of my short stories, it’s not one of my novels. It’s just a personal story I had to share.
Half Light’s debut issue is now online, and carries fiction, poetry, personal stories, and media. Check it out at http://halflightmagazine.com Also, “Like” them on Facebook! They don’t have a “suggest to friends” button on their page, so search on Half Light Magazine and it will come up. I’ll try to pm most of you over the next couple of days.
Dean wrote of “The Things That Come Back to You”: “Author Kristi Petersen Schoonover tells a haunting, yet touching personal story of family, dark poetry and the pining search for a memento from deep in her past.” It’s featured under Personal Stories here: http://halflightmagazine.com/2011/02/28/the-things-that-come-back-to-you/
I feel incredibly honored and thrilled to have been included in Half Light’s debut issue, and am touched by Dean’s description. But what’s even more magical is that this pales in comparison to knowing that my father’s beloved paper is getting the exposure it deserves.
