The Smoking Poet, which published my short story “Incident at Dark Acres” in its Winter 2010-2011 Issue #17, has given Bad Apple an outstanding review in its Summer 2014 Issue #26. I have great respect for Zinta Aistairs, editor and publisher, who reviewed the novel—I’ve been reading TSP for years—and so this means a lot. Check it out here.

In additional good news, Zinta published an interview with me in which I reveal for the first time a few details about and photos of some of the real locations behind those in Bad Apple. Give that a read here.

The bad news is this is The Smoking Poet’s final issue. Having worked on magazines myself, I know that they are an all-consuming amount of work, and Zinta has decided that after 26 issues she’s ready to move on and follow her dreams of a different sort. She writes a wonderful farewell letter here.

That said, I don’t know how long the links for the review and the interview will be live, so catch them soon…and certainly while you’re over there, check out some of their other issues. It’s a loss that such a great magazine is closing.
