Looking for a quick little getaway? Join me at Howe Caverns this weekend!
Posted by kristipetersenschoonover
I’ll be signing copies of my book The Shadows Behind up at Howe Caverns this Saturday, August 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the main lodge.
Anyone who purchases a copy at the event this weekend will receive a bonus book—Twisted Routes—free! The book contains one special edition and one unpublished piece, set at Howe Caverns and at Paradox Lake (near Fort Ticonderoga, which also figures prominently in the story).
Beyond that, Howe Caverns is a wonderful place to spend a day or an overnight. Aside from the sheer beauty of the property, there are plenty of activities. The 90-minute traditional cave tour features a boat ride on an underground lake, and stand on the famous bridal altar! Howe High Adventure offers a ropes course, BOGO ball and rock wall. Sift for mineral treasures at the Howe Caverns Mining Company, and make your own keepsake at the Howe Caverns Glassworks. Want breakfast or lunch? Their café is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (and the food is awesome. Trust me on that one).
Special bonus? Well, you’ve never had fudge as good as their homemade (sold right there in the main lodge!) And it’s the only place in the world you can buy cheddar cheese aged right down in the caverns (when you go on the tour, they show you the room where they age the cheese). If you’re planning for further in advance, there are special overnight packages featuring other types of cave tours.
A day at Howe Caverns is a special experience. Don’t miss out; visit today!
Howe Caverns is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Learn more about what they have to offer here: https://howecaverns.com/
