“SMOKE BRAKE” ACCEPTED
My short story “Smoke Brake”—basically, it’s about girls, cars, and cigarettes—has been accepted for publication in the April issue of The Legendary. I’ll let you know when it’s available.
A ghost story writer who still sleeps with the lights on, Kristi Petersen Schoonover’s fiction has appeared in many magazines and anthologies; her traditionally published books include a short story collection, THE SHADOWS BEHIND. She was the recipient of three Norman Mailer Writers Colony Residencies and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. She serves as co-host of the DARK DISCUSSIONS podcast, as founding editor of the dark literary journal 34 ORCHARD, and is a member of both the New England Horror Writers and the Horror Writers Association. Congratulations on “Smoke Brake” Krissi. Seems as if you’re getting a lot of work accepted lately.
Thanks, Melissa! Well…what I’ve got to say is at least SOMETHING is going right!!
Woot! Woot! Congrats:)
Thanks, Tina! I really like this story and was happy to have it find a home. It’s funny…I wrote the first draft of it on 3/17/06, and it was accepted on 3/17/10. Pretty cool!
