Go to Books & Boos in October, Get “A Bone to Pick”

A Bone to Pick

A copy of my limited-edition chapbook, “A Bone to Pick,” is yours with any purchase in October at Books & Boos at 514 Westchester Road in Colchester, CT. Don’t miss your chance to add this to your collection…while supplies last. Better yet, buy your books and get your copy at one of the store’s events this month…and don’t forget to contribute to their Indiegogo Campaign!

Sunday, October 13: Ecologist and Author Maureen Heidtmann

From 4 to 6 PM, Maureen Heidtmann, author of Midnight Stroll, The Driveby Book of Duck Facts, and Monster Ducks will be at the store. She is a licensed wildlife rescuer, an ecologist, a writing tutor at a community college, a librarian and a graphic designer. She has been a contributing writer for The National Free Press and The Main Street News, for which she also wrote a monthly children’s question and answer column called Ask the Amphibian.

Friday, October 18: Explore the Paranormal with Louisa Oakley Green

Learn how Louisa Oakley Green came to believe in the paranormal from 6 to 8 PM! Green didn’t believe in psychic phenomena when she met her husband, Stephen. But more than twenty years later, her views have changed. Her book, Loitering at the Gate to Eternity, chronicles her journey from skeptic to believer through more than 100 paranormal stories involving her husband, his family, and friends.

Wednesday, October 23: Learn How to Get Published with Joe Ross

Attention aspiring writers and authors looking to get published! Author, editor, and publisher Joe Ross of Rosstrum Publishing will be at the store from 5 to 7 PM to offer writing advice, tips on what publishers and editors are looking for, and describe the road to becoming a published author. Ross has written and published three books of his own and offers over a dozen titles through his publishing house.

Books & Boos Needs Your Help!

Our Indiegogo campaign is winding down, and we desperately need your help. September sales were quite low and we had to visit a pawn shop to meet the rent. At this point, we’re hoping to raise $6,000 to carry us through the winter and still be around this Spring. We’d appreciate ANY amount you can donate–every dollar helps! Visit our campaign at http://igg.me/at/booksandboos. Thank you for your support!
