Do you have a writing bug?
I do, apparently! I was reading my then-newest short story to a couple of friends on my back porch, and this cool little guy landed on my manuscript. I loved seeing the words through his wings!
Although I’m not sure what this is (and if you know for sure, please write in), my husband Nathan (an exterminator), says the wings are the width of a moth’s, but the striations on them make him think it might be a fly. Internet searches trying to match the photo have turned up nothing.
For now, I’ll just call him the writing bug.

Your little writing bug has such delicate, beautiful wings. Look at the intricate lines! I don’t know what it is. Maybe a juvenile dobsonfly? Or some kind of mayfly?
Doesn’t it, thought?? SO PRETTY!! Kind of reminds me of the intricacies of writing itself, which I suppose is why I made the association! Hmmm–DOBSONFLY, MAYFLY — I WILL LOOK THOSE UP!! THANK YOU!!
Looks like one of the Lacewings … though they usually hold their wings more tented . . .

Yeah, I looked at lacewings, but those didn’t look right — on the other hand, who knows. If my husband the exterminator has no clue, that says something…
